Kelsey's Montana wedding

We just arrived home this evening from a fantastic long weekend trip to Basin, Montana, to witness Kelsey and Pete's wedding. Our photos are lacking since we brought two nearly dead batteries, but I did manage to get a lot of shots of the rehearsal, and hopefully Cass & Sarah will share some of their photos of the wedding.

To the left is my favorite shot of the wedding that we do have on our camera. In the background you can see parts of the "Seven Generations" statue that served as the backdrop for their ceremony. We were on a hill in the town of Boulder, MT, on the property of the Boulder Hot Springs (which we took advantage of on Sunday after the festivities). The Seven Generations sculpture comes from a saying of a local Native American tribe that warned we should be making our decisions based on how they will affect the seven generations that follow us. Just like our politicians do today! Right.

One highlight of hanging out with Kelsey and her family and friends is that there is always music, singing, and dancing (even when the bride is trying to organize her wedding rehearsal and the band just.won't.quit). The video below is of the FOG (Bruce), FOB (Tim), and two family friends (Terrance and Brock).

Band rehearsal at Kelsey's wedding rehearsal

I got ahold of Cass & Sarah's photos - here is a shot of us contra dancing at the wedding reception. Joyful Nate!

Here are some scenes from rehearsal:
Nate was a groomsman, along with Pete's brother Alec (left), cousin Sam (middle), and friend Ryan (not pictured).

We also got to meet Jacob Claassen, Cassidy and Sarah's seven-month-old boy. Here are Nate and Cass at the wedding, looking sharp. And the Claassen clan below (matching cowboy shirts!):

Kelsey and Pete, thanks for a fantastic weekend! On the way home we were talking about our favorite parts of the weekend and we both agreed that it was how all of your friends and family were so friendly and welcoming and inclusive and fun.  You guys have a great community.

Making vows: Oct 2, 2011.
Congrats, Kelsey and Pete!
