12 weeks

We have lovely visitors in town, which has slowed down my blog posting habit. Babu and Gigi are taking care of Coraline this month, which has been a blessing on so many levels! Cora loves bonding with her Keller grandparents - she lights up when they talk to and coo at her, and Nate and I feel great about leaving her with them all day while we head to work and school.

Babu (Jimbo) can't believe how fast the days go when he is watching a little one. He is pretty proud of himself when they manage to go grocery shopping. He is basically experiencing what it feels like to be a new mom. When Babu gets nervous, Gigi has it all under control, though. They are a great team.

Nate and I have been very well fed and pampered this week, too. And Jimbo and Judy are teaching us how to play bridge - more games for our repertoire!

The photo for this week has a little story behind it. Cornell has an infant research lab that studies 12-week old babies, and Cora signed up to be tested this week. The lab is studying infant attention, so she watched light-up duckies dance on a wall while EEG sensors monitored her brain (that's the thing on her head) and they videotaped her eyes. She managed to pay attention for over 5 minutes, and showed off a bit of her new thumb-sucking skills to the camera.

And here's a short video of me and Cora playing - skip to the end of the video if you don't want hear me singing but do want to check out her big smile.
