At 6 months old, Silas had not yet met his Uncle James or Aunt Marley. So when we heard they were coming to New York City to go to the Superbowl, we decided to head to the Big Apple to make the introduction. It was also Marley's first trip to NYC!
We drove down on Friday after dinner, arriving at the TriBeCa Hilton Garden Inn to find that CBS was taping a scene from the show Bluebloods in the alley next door. The hotel lobby was full of tired looking key grips and gaffers and best boys.
Jimbo had already checked us into our giant room with its monster jacuzzi tub, and his room with James and Marley was next door. Jimbo was out at dinner, but James and Marley showed up from their delayed flight at 1am. Cora briefly woke up to greet them, then they headed out to meet up with Jim and the Super Bowl crew while Nate and I made whiskey sours in the hotel.
The next morning, no one was up at 8am when the kids were ready to explore the town, so we headed out on our own to eat at a French cafe, try a TriBeCa playground, and meander around the new World Trade Center tower. We eventually got a glimpse of Lady Liberty in the distance from Battery Park City, see if you can find her behind Cora and Elmo in the picture below:

We went back to the hotel for naps and books and play dough until dinner at Bubby's. James and Marley joined us for a drink at dinner but went off to their own dinner plans with Jimbo and the Sehers.
That night my college friend AJ and her boyfriend Paul came over to our hotel to hang out while the kids slept. She met both kids for the first time.
Sunday morning we took Silas' first subway ride:
We spent the morning in Central Park, trying out playgrounds and cheering racers in a 4 mile "gridiron" race. When James, Marley, and Babu caught up with us later we found a great little breakfast cafe called Alice's Tea Cup on West 73rd for tea and scones.
