47 weeks - busy busy

I missed posting this for last week...

Oops! An epic case of diaper rash led to an oatmeal bath...
which works pretty well, BTW.
This girl does not slow down. Even when she has a slight fever and the sniffles (ugh, it's been a long 3 weeks in this house... Mom & baby sick, and now Nate coming down with it), Cora still seems to have boundless energy for using her little body and brain.

The mornings tend to be her talking time - at her new wake-up time of 5:30 (REALLY?), you can find her babbling away in our bed after a morning nursing. Then one of us drags out of bed to follow her around the living room for a few hours while she tells stories. She's come up with a few new words this week: "out" and "up", and she's working on "baby". She uses Mama and Dada in reference to those actual people (awesome) although occasionally I think she calls my mom "Mama" too. She can pull off Babu with encouragement, which of course she's getting a lot of since my dad arrived this weekend. And on Skype she said "Pa" on demand when Papa asked her to. Good timing!

Afternoons are for athletics, as Papa put it in the comments recently. Pushing her growing population of push toys around the yard, climbing onto bookshelves, dressing and undressing her "baby" (my old Cabbage Patch doll), trying on her hat collection, chasing Crouton around the kitchen, weightlifting with her plastic booster chair, playing cars (complete with engine sounds, which she learned from Skylar), playing ball... she's got a lot going on.

Even with extra hands on deck, we all go to bed exhausted each night.
