Our time on the Djeneba was spent trying out lots of new activities, and sharing the experiences with Cora.
Shrimping at Pender Harbor was a hoot, at least until Cora decided to take a quick nap.
On our way to our northernmost point on the trip, Princess Louisa Inlet, Jimbo sent Nate, Pete, and me out on a mission. We took off on the dinghy in the morning during Cora's nap to collect clams from a place recommended by the Ellingsons.
| Can you find Nate in this sea of oyster, clam, and mussel shells? |
| On the way back to the Djeneba, we stopped to see this waterfall just long enough to cause panic on the boat caravan we'd left behind. They couldn't reach us on the radio so decided to turn back to find us. We found them about 15 minutes later. |
Parties on the boats can look like this:
| Clamfest, thanks to our digging adventure earlier that day. |
Or like this:
| Marilyn? Is that you? |
And the everyday stuff was priceless (these are out of chronological order).
| Underway on an uncommonly calm day on the Strait of Georgia. |
| Gigi and Cora, with Mount Ranier in the background (in Tacoma). |
| Baby laundry is the only kind allowed to make the Djeneba look like a gypsy boat. |
We saw dozens of orcas off the coast of San Juan Island, ranging from full-grown males down to babies! |
| One of the crowd. |
