First Mother's Day

Erin is not one to let the menfolk just make breakfast for their ladies on Mother's Day. She is going to come up with some hilarious idea.

Therefore:

"Chopped" is a TV show that Ron & Kathy saw at Karisa's house on their tour of TV watching with their kids' families last month (at our house, Kathy was subjected to "Amazing Race"). On "Chopped", competitor chefs have to make a meal using specific ingredients in a too-short period of time.

Our ingredients: eggs, cantaloupe, leftover steak, and Ramen noodles.

Here is the final product:

Breakfast burritos and something called "Ramen salad"
After breakfast and church (Cora's first! she was surprised by the organ music when she fell asleep on Nate; she loved the stained glass windows), we headed to Penn's Arboretum to hug some trees.

We took obligatory family photos:

We had a picnic, again provided by the gentlemen among us. They did a beautiful job of picking some tasty fruits, cheeses, and fresh bread, though they somehow omitted to get napkins or knives or plates. So we had a primitive picnic, and stole paper towels from the bathrooms. And then we went about our merry way throughout the Arboretum:

Thanks for a wonderful first Mother's Day!
