It is hard to think about selling the house where our children were born. I feel conflicted about this phase of our journey toward Kenya. After all these months of waiting, suddenly it seems like everything is happening so quickly.
--update-- So it happened. Five days after going on the market, our house is under contract. We had two offers in two days, and we ended up agreeing on a price $4000 above our asking price. So that's nice. Actually, it was a pretty big adrenaline rush once I got over feeling jealous of the future potential owners of our house. Nate was out of town for about 30 hours in the middle of the negotiations, so I was calling my dad a lot for advice. Our realtor, Jill, was also a huge help. And now it's done. Tentative closing date: November 23. We'll be long gone by then...

The photos are wonderful, Jen! And this really is the home as you've been living in it - same furniture, same arrangement, same items on the walls (well, maybe picked-up a bit more than usual, as though the kids had been gone for a while). :-) The whole realtor's site made us homesick for Slaterville Road!
We have loved each of our houses ... it comes from making a structure into a home. And this first one for you 4 is so full of memories. Just know it will be true for each of your future homes as well, as you 4 will turn structures into places of peace, love, and abiding. We look forward to visiting you in those as well!
