The end of (some) things

Last week, Cora experienced a couple endings. And there is another coming up this week (our kids' last day at Renee's House). It's left her feeling confused and occasionally blue. We've been combating those feelings by sharing them, and by giving lots of cuddles.

Since today is my last day of work at Cornell (!), I will have lots more time to provide those cuddles.

At her last day of soccer, Cora decided to woman the goal during scrimmage. She looks very intimidating and effective in the photo above, but as soon as the other team would bring the ball down toward her goal, she would step aside respectfully and even encourage them as they tried to shoot on goal.

Then on Thursday last week we attended a special "moving up" party for Cora's preschool. The kids put on a short play based on "The Gruffalo," and then the teachers gave special attention to each kid. They had collected quotes from each kid through the year, and read them aloud. Then each kid got a certificate and flower, and a Father's Day bookmark that they had made for their own daddies.

So excited to have Mom & Dad in the crowd

Please share some of Cora's "collected quotes"!

I am so glad to have been in the Ellis Hollow preschool and can picture the scene and remember the teachers. You two made a great decision for your daughter!
