Another day we headed back to the Living Desert zoo for the north half of the park we missed the first time. Again, we found more fun, interactive stuff for the kids.
First, "Australia's birds" exhibit, which was basically a huge tent FILLED with budgies and cockatoos and other friendly birds that wanted to climb on your head and into your pockets.

Then, on to the awesome zoo animal carousel.
Finally, to the playground which mimicked animal habitats with tunnels to climb in, sand to play with, and a slide that looked like a huge palm tree fallen over.

On New Year's Eve day, we drove up to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. The tram offered a beautiful, cold trip to the top of the mountains over Palm Springs, especially after a big snowfall.
