Sciencenter smiles + Sunday sickness

Friday is Cora and my day together - and this week we headed downtown Ithaca to the Sciencenter. Some of the other yoga moms and babies were there, too. Since Cora is still the only walker in the group, we stuck to the baby zone while they were all there.

Hangin' with the boys: Cypress, Miles, and Daryoush

Everything in the baby zone is reachable to crawlers and toddlers. Cora's favorite parts of this area were the indoor waterfall/plastic duck pond and a hand held prism-like screen that showed rainbows around all the lights when you looked through it.

When everyone else got ready to go, Cora was still raring to explore. We headed into the "big kids" (main) areas of the center. She loved the fish and frogs in the live animal displays, and just watching all the other kids interact with the science exhibits. I can't wait to take her to her first zoo...

After she saw two bigger girls climb on top of this triceratops skull, she had to try it too
But the BEST part was the outdoor area that is full of things to climb on, walk over, play music on, race around, etc... Here she is on the wobbly suspension bridge:

I love this picture so much -
this is our girl right before she gave me an ecstatic hug

She quickly learned that if she stood still and bobbed up and down, she could make the whole bridge jiggle and dance. Awesome! But every time another person walked across it, she'd get tossed around like a leaf on the breeze. Of course she loved every minute of it.

I'm writing this on Sunday; our little lady is quite sick today. She threw up all her food at 2:30am last night, and has slept nearly the whole day today. Since the sun came up she's been sporting a 100 degree fever and a runny nose. Uh oh!
