Cora's first swim

Our little gal woke me up at 5am this morning, and she was raring to go on Day 2 of our adventure. So we had a 6am breakfast, played in the room for a bit, took a quick nap, and headed to the pool by 8am.

Cora was cool as a cucumber in the pool. We swam for half an hour or so, playing around with some splashing and kicking. And, just like she does in the bath, she spent a lot of time dipping her hand in the water and sucking on her fingers. Apparently she likes chlorine flavor better than carrots.

Suddenly Cora likes to sit up - but she often face plants to the side
after a minute or two.
After a second nap for the morning and some more playing in our hotel room, we met up with my colleague, Sarah, and headed south to Rhode Island for lunch on the waterfront. Pretty much everywhere seems to be waterfront around here, though.

At Evelyn's restaurant in Tiverton, Rhode Island
We drove around the peninsula for a while, checking out the beautiful old houses, crumbling stone fences, and perfectly manicured lawns.

This afternoon we are taking it easy - doing laundry at the hotel, taking a bath, and basically not spending too much time in the car. Last night, Cora had had just about enough of her carseat by 4:30pm when we went to the Providence airport to pick up my colleague.

She was an angel for her babysitter last night. I had a focus group to facilitate at 7pm, so a local babysitter (recommended by one of the PTO moms that I am working with here in Somerset) watched Cora in our hotel room from 6-9pm. Cora was exhausted after our travels, so she went to sleep without a peep.

Allison, the babysitter, will be back again tonight while I am at my second focus group. Then Cora and I are out of here bright and early tomorrow morning... off to Vermont for Skylar's birthday!
