Pre-Christmas fun and golfing

This year, we were blessed to have both my parents and Nate's cousin, Jonathan, and his girlfriend, Kylie, at our house for Christmas. But before Jon & Kylie arrived, we were busy with lots of preparations and fun.

We saved the tree trimming for when my mom arrived before our trip to France.

Cora learned how to play Rage, the Hutchins/Jensen family game. Silas learned to play Catan.

Cora went to the Nutcracker ballet at the National Theater with our neighbors from House 2, the Fevres. Here she is with Ev and Coco.

We got some family Christmas photos from afar.

The night Nate and I returned from France, we brought my parents (my dad arrived the night before us) out with our friends for a private movie viewing of the Griswold's Christmas at a mall theater.

We enjoyed ILRI campus and friends.

My parents and I took the kids to Naivasha to the Great Rift Valley Lodge on Saturday morning. My parents, the avid golfers, had never golfed in Africa before. It was time to remedy that situation.

We had a fancy dinner at the restaurant that night.

We saw several dikdiks and deer in the yard in the morning.

Our rental house was full of huge furniture.

On Sunday, my parents went golfing. We caught up with them on the course a bit later after a swim. There were Egyptian geese and zebras on the golf course!

After golfing, the kids tried hitting balls at the driving range.

Then, more swimming and some lunch.

Then we drove home!
