Kellers on the Djeneba

On Silas' birthday, we arrived at the Djeneba to begin our 2+ week adventure in the Broughtons. The first 9 days were the Keller family reunion.

After an epic journey which included flying out of Jackson Hole, rerouting through Seattle and driving to Vancouver BC with a newborn and a 2-year-old, the Wyoming Keller-Vaughns arrived at the boat in Port McNeill on north Vancouver Island.

Cora gave Evy a nautical-themed mobile that she made for her:

Our newest baby cousin,Evyana, is a peach and we love her to pieces.

The next morning, Silas was quick to be in the driver's seat as we got underway.

Not totally sure, but I think that is the Matthews Range mountains in the distance. We had great views of the range throughout the trip and from many angles.

Stopped along the route for a bit of bottom fishing.

Once we got to Sullivan Bay, the crew had to go out to drop the crab and shrimp pots.

Later in the trip, we managed to lose one of these shrimp pots and only kept the KELLER buoy.

On our first salmon fishing excursion, Nate and James caught fish and I had three (three!) come off the line before we could net them.

Boat life, caught on camera by my loving husband.

Kayaking and evening traditions in Sullivan Bay.

Silas remembered the dock golfing from two years ago and asked to do it again

I love this picture so much
The best part of this trip was all the special family time. This was the most time we've spent with James, Marley, Skylin, and Evyana since we had kids.

We had lots of projects, and Nate and Jimbo bonded over machines and theories of what went wrong this time...

At Turnbull Cove, the bravest among us swam in the cove.

We checkout out the lake on the hillside, too. I was pretty sure we were going to get eaten by a bear, but really only the mosquitoes got us.

These are bug-eating plants growing on the docks!

I also helped with the projects - here's a shot from me and Dad fixing one of the downriggers.

Some of us caught some salmon:

Family time!

Shrimping success
