Watamu with the Studers

Our Peace Corps friend, Sarah, and her husband Greg and son Damien moved to Uganda a few months ago. We finally managed to get together, and made the most of it with a trip to the coast. We returned to Watamu because it was easy to plan, having just gone there with my parents at Christmas.

We took the train!

We swam in our AirBnb pool. A lot.

Cora and a giant drowning beetle
If you have to work, it might as well be here

Our pool had an island with trees
and weaver bird nests in the middle of it

The apartment on the ground floor with the white drapes
was our home for the duration

We went to the beach just outside our gate.

The three heads in the distance are Cora, Silas and Nate

Nate and I went scuba diving again and SAW A WHALE SHARK from the dive boat. I wish I had a photo of it, but we were too busy hanging of the side of the boat trying to spot it as it swam near us.

An old poster of the reefs near Watamu
We ate and drank tasty treats and explored the town of Watamu a bit more.

And we flew home, happy to have spent a few days together in paradise.
