On our way

We were "those people" at the airport. The ones with their passports out, too-large luggage piled high on multiple push carts, taking up a shocking amount of space and time. Luckily, we had Ron and Kathy in town to help us organize the last couple days of moving out, packing up, and getting on the plane with our 15 bags (5 checked footlockers, 3 enormous suitcases, two car seat bags and five carry-on bags) and two kids.

We flew through Philadelphia and Doha, Qatar, on our way to Nairobi. The kids watched about 4 movies each on the 12-hour Philly-Doha flight (they had probably seen 10 full-length movies in their entire lives to that point), and were quite happy about it. Nate was on dad duty for the majority of that flight, so nice. For the last few hours, Silas slept on my lap and kicked the lady two seats away, but for some reason she thought it was cute. I was too tired to worry about it. Cora slept through all the meals on the Doha-Nairobi leg.

After a 30-hour trip, we arrived in Nairobi at about 2pm. From the plane I saw zebras, no joke. Customs was amazingly fast (not a typical experience I've now learned) and soon we were in a van that BARELY fit us and our luggage. On the way out of the airport we all saw giraffes at the edge of the Nairobi National Park.
