9 weeks

Cora had her 2 month doctor's appointment yesterday. She weighed in at 12lbs 14oz, which puts her in the 90th percentile of weight for her age. You grow, girl. Most of that weight appears to be her brain & noggin - her head circumference was in the 80th percentile! I don't remember how "tall" (long) she is, but she was in the 50th percentile there. So basically she's growing out, not up. The doc also gave her the 2-month vaccinations, which she handled well at the time. Later that night, though, she had a hard time sleeping and was crying much more than usual - it seemed like her thigh (where they injected the 2 shots) was tender to the touch and she may have had a slight fever (which the doc told us to expect). Poor baby!

Today she is home with Nathan. I hope she is feeling better now! Momma misses you, little one...

Well, let's get to some 9 week photos. Cora is smiling and laughing all the time now, and even seems to imitate me when I stick out my tongue at her... two nights ago she was laughing at me while on her dad's lap:

She is also looking for that sneaky thumb of hers - at the moment, she mostly sucks on her hand and several fingers, but with all this practice she's going to find her thumb someday soon:

Two nights ago we switched her into a sleepsack for the first time - up 'til now we've been swaddling her every night. In the photo below, check out her new fancy fleece sleepsack from WA state friends, and you can see that Cora is nearly getting too big for her bassinet! It will be time to move her into her crib in her own room soon. I'm going to miss hearing her little squeaks and murmurs throughout the night. Our baby is really growing up:

Look at those blue eyes... seems like she had something serious on her mind when we were chillin in the rocking chair the other day:

While we were in Philly last weekend, Erin let Cora borrow a couple of Eliza's old black-and-white board books... she loves them! Here she is, gazing at the book and working on her pacifier skills while I worked in the kitchen yesterday morning:
